Former Saturday Night Liveimpression master Jay Pharoah has added Donald Trump to his repertoire as evidenced from the opening of Sunday night's American Music Awards.

After dusting off his standard (yet solid) Jay Z impression,Dear Utol (2025): Aswang Episode 30 Pharoah impressed co-host Gigi Hadid and audience members with his version of Trump describing the way Bruno Mars is Trump's favorite musician.

"I love Bruno Mars. I don't know what color his is so I can't deport... He looks like Mowgi from the Jungle Book," Pharoah quipped. He capped it off with a Mars/Trump mash-up pun: "I'm going to funk this country up bigly."

Pharoah's impression followed a less successful attempt by Hadid to send-up incoming first lady Melania Trump (complete with plagiarism jokes).

Both co-hosts insisted in their opening that the night would be devoid of politics because the night "is about the music" but that didn't stop the impressions or a deportation joke from Pharoah at DJ Khaled's expense later.
