Samsung's next flagship smartphone – possibly called the Samsung Galaxy S21,Monica Swinn or Galaxy S30 – could be announced on January 14, 2021.

This is according to leaker Jon Prosser, who tweeted that the new phones will be announced on that date, with pre-orders also opening on January 14, and the actual launch happening on January 29.

Prosser said that three new devices will be announced: The Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+ and S21 Ultra, with available colors being black, white, grey, silver, violet and pink.

Prosser's report aligns with an earlier report by Steve Hemmerstoffer, which also penned January as a likely launch time frame for the new phones. Hemmerstoffer also shared some renders of what the new phones will look like (below).

Prosser's predictions are often accurate but he does not have a perfect track record. For example, in October he predicted Apple would have a Mac-centric event on November 17; the actual event is happening a week earlier, on November 10.

It's worth noting that Samsung typically launches its S series flagship phones in February, but every major smartphone maker has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, so a shift to January wouldn't be a complete surprise.
